Hempstead Rape Suspect Sought by Police

first_imgSign up for our COVID-19 newsletter to stay up-to-date on the latest coronavirus news throughout New York Nassau County police are asking for the public’s help in finding a suspect wanted for allegedly raping a woman in Hempstead two weeks ago.Special Victims Squad detectives issued a wanted poster on June 10 for Bayron Maldonado, who investigators alleged was “unlawfully present in an apartment” on Jerusalem Avenue when he allegedly raped and sodomized a female victim at 12:10 p.m. Tuesday, June 2.Maldonado is described as 5-feet, 4-inches tall, 160 pounds with black hair and brown eyes. He is known to drive a 2004 Ford, Econoline Van, with New York license plate No. GXC-5792.His current whereabouts are unknown. Authorities said that the suspect should be considered dangerous.Detectives ask anyone with information on his location to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-244-TIPS (8477) or Special Victims Squad detectives at 516-573-4022.last_img read more

Snowmobile crash sends one to the hospital

first_imgAccording to the Earlville fire department, they say that the crash happened around 9:30 p.m. Friday night in the area of River Road and Thompson Hill Road. EARLVILLE (WBNG)- On Friday night, one person was airlifted to the hospital following a snowmobile crash in the village of Earlville. The department says that the person crashed because they were unfamiliar with the trail and the conditions of the trail. They also say the person may have suffered from potential back and neck injuries, the status of the person is still unknown.
