Beaver Boys Golf Wins 2-A State Title; the 7th in school history

first_img FacebookTwitterLinkedInEmailRICHFIELD, Utah-Thursday afternoon, the Beaver Beavers won the 2-A boys’ state golf title at Cove View Golf Course of Richfield.This was the Beavers’ 7th all-time golf state title, going back-to-back this season.The Beavers’ collective score of 619 allowed them to earn the title, decisively besting second-place Gunnison, who finished with a score of 708.Kanab’s boys placed fifth overall, posting a score of 782.The Beavers’ star was Cayson Kreth, who posted a team-best score of 151. He finished second overall in the standings behind Waterford’s Jack Nilsen, whose score of 146 made him the individual 2-A state championship.  His teammates also excelled, including Jaxon Hutchings, who finished in third with a total of 154 and Beaver’s Braden Roberts finished fourth with a score of 155.Other Beavers to excel included Corbin Hanning, who placed sixth with 156 points, Chipper Willden who placed eighth (161 points) and Klayson Matheson who placed tenth with 170 points.For Gunnison, Mason Bartholomew was the highest-placing Bulldog, as he finished seventh, poting a score of 158.Millard’s Jadden Cranney also showed well at the tournament, finishing ninth overall with a score of 164 for the Eagles.
